Since 1991, GHEC, Global Health Education Consortium, a consortium of health professionals, educators, students and institutions has been committed to improving the ability of the global workforce to meet the health and human rights of underserved populations worldwide. They have all been dedicated to global health education in health professions schools and residency programs. GHEC members are active in more than 70 health profession schools and training programs in the United States, Canada, Central America and the Caribbean. GHEC hosts annual events that bring together students, faculty and practitioners of global health.
This year, GHEC and its cosponsor, Mexico’s Instituto National de Salud Pública, will hold its annual conference in Cuernava, Mexico from April 9 – 11, 2010. The conference highlights the South/South experience in fostering new collaborative mechanisms that reflect the vibrancy and variety of Global Health programs through the region.
